Welcome.  We're approaching the time you and your team have been working towards for many months. We're really looking forward to seeing all the creative solutions your teams have come up with at the tournament on Saturday, March 10th, 2012, at the Champlain Valley Union High School

The 2012 Vermont Odyssey of the Mind Tournament will be the largest celebration of student creativity in the state.  This is our 33rd Anniversary tournament. We strongly encourage ALL teams to attend the tournament to display their problem solution.  Sometimes teams believe that because their solution is not complete, or does not function perfectly, that they should not register and attend the tournament. In fact, on many occasions some tasks are very difficult FOR ALL TEAMS.  Therefore it is in the best interests of teams to come and show us what you've got! Every team that displays their attempt to solve the problem is a winner!

What do you need to register?

• Membership Information (Membership # and Zip Code of where membership package is mailed -- ask your coordinator or ask us). If you do not yet have a membership, you may purchase one here.
  You will not be able to register for the tournament without a valid membership.

• Coaches Contact Information (a valid EMAIL address is necessary)

• Problem and Division Your Team wishes to compete in.

• Team Member Information (Names and Grades)

• Volunteer Information (Name and Contact Information).

• Each team MUST supply at least one Judge to work the full day of the tournament
  (unless specifically exempted by the Association Director.  All teams from first-year MEMBERSHIPS are exempt)
  During this process you will be asked to nominate someone. Please be sure that they are available and willing to serve as an official for your team before nominating them.  You must register your Judge or decide to pay the registration fee as part of the tournament registration process.  Judge registration is also due on January 28th, 2012.. Judges must attend training.  If your judge/volunteer does not show up for both the training and the tournament, your team will be assessed the Volunteer Waiver Fee of $50 on tournament day.  Judges MUST be at least 18 yrs old by tournament day.

Be prepared to provide any special accomodation/scheduling/facilities needs.  These might include:

• siblings on different teams

• coach is coaching more than one team

• team members from another team joining your team for spontaneous

• team member or coach disabilities

• specific allergies (latex)

• other ?

DEADLINES and FEES for registration:

• Early Registration (on or before January 28th) - $40 per team / $20 Primary Teams

• Past Deadline (after January 28th) - $100 per Team / $50 Primary Teams

Upon completing the registration process, you will be send a confirming email and invoice. You should discuss with your membership coordinator how the invoice should be paid.

Payment of registration fees
 and judge waiver (if applicable)
is due by January 28th, 2012
A School Purchase Order counts as payment for deadlines purposes
