Membership and Registration Fees

This is a breakdown of all the necessary membership and registration fees associated with participation in the Odyssey of the Mind program.

National Membership ($135)

Before a team can get started, a National Membership must be purchased for their supporting organization (usually a school) and can be done online here using a credit card. Or you may download and print the application to be sent in the mail with a check or purchase order.

Payment confirmation will include an email with your membership number and access to the Member Area of the national site. Also, a membership packet will be sent to your school or organization’s contact that will contain your membership card, full problem descriptions, a program guide, and curriculum material for teachers.One membership covers multiple teams in all the problems and divisions. An organization would only need to purchase an additional membership if there are two or more teams of the same division wishing to compete in the same problem. The additional membership is discounted to $100. If your school or organization has purchased a membership in the past, you will simply renew using the same membership number. The cost is still $135 for renewals.

State Tournament Registration Fees ($50 per team)

All teams wishing to compete at the state tournament must pay a registration fee of $50 except for Primary teams (K-2), which are only $20. You can register your team by going to the Members Area the national website. You will need the following to complete your registration:

1. Coach(es) name, address, phone and email

2. School name, address, and email

3. Team Members name, school, and grade

4. Membership number, problem, and division

Please complete this registration no later than Jan. 19, 2018. Fees will double for any registrations made after this deadline. The deadline to pay the registration fee is February 3, 2018.  Fees will double for payments made after this date.

To pay by credit card, contact Kathy Jacob at vtootm@accessvt.com.  Payment is made through PayPal and a 4% service fee will apply. ($2.00 for a $50 tournament fee, $.80 for a $20 tournament fee)  PayPal will send an invoice to your email address asking for your credit card information.
